HISTORY

The beginning of our company was all started in Lawrenceburg, TN, with The Brass Lantern restaurant in 1988. Johnny Fleeman purchased this restaurant realizing that the food industry was growing due to more people eating out rather than cooking at home. His goal was to provide the line of products in a small town that people had to go out of town for. With a lot of desire, hard work, and commitment to perfection in all Johnny was doing, the idea worked.

In 1993 we opened our first LEGENDS in Columbia, TN. Not very many people know how we came up with this name. Sitting around wondering what to call our restaurants with the hope of building a company, there was a 486 computer with the name Legend on it, Johnny glanced at the computer and said, "That is it. I'll call my restaurants, LEGENDS. A place that centers on the Legendary people and places that made the particular town we where located in," what it is today. That is where our theme comes from. We felt the community would appreciate the artifacts and we wanted them to feel like each restaurant belonged to them, because when it gets right down to it, our guest really owns the operation.

With the vision of being the best in the industry, no matter what market we are in, our company's commitment is that of Johnny'’s when he first started. Simply, striving for perfection everyday in what we do. We take no short cuts when it comes to quality and service. All our food is prepared from the highest quality products available in the industry. We prepare everything from a recipe, a lot of which can be contributed, to Johnny's mom, Faye. The thought has always been, why buy something already prepared, when you can make it better yourself, like mom did.

Our growth plans are simple. Just take care of the customer in front of you today, and growth will be there tomorrow. Our growth comes from the people within. We seek people who cannot only manage, but has the ability to own. Our managers are people with the ability to see more than just the frame of the door when they walk into their store. They see things as an owner, always trying to improve their operation daily.

The LEGENDS concept is an absolute commitment to perfection in every aspect of the business. LEGENDS are committed to providing superior service and food to our guest, and the company believes that 100% guest satisfaction is the minimum acceptable standard of performance in our restaurants.
